Yes it’s that time of year again. My good friend Matt has registered himself to partake this year and details can be found at Matt Barnes if you feel a warm and fuzzy feeling in your heart to help raise awareness and funds for Men’s health, please give what you can to the cause.

Funds are committed to our men’s health partners, the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and beyondblue: the national depression initiative and the Movember Foundation. Together, the three channels work to ensure that Movember funds are supporting a broad range of innovative, world class programs in the fields of research, education, support, and awareness.

In other news, nothing much is happening with the good ole Dags here. Just coding. Planning a big move in the upcoming weeks. Other than that, just really strapped for free time. Hope you guys are keeping yourselves well entertained on the intarwebs while I take my time to update the site here.

Well, what started out as a quick fiddle with CSS3 and HTML5 new elements, tags and techniques, quickly turned into my new theme here are darrennolan.com.

Behold the latest of my understandings in this new exciting world!!!

There is virtually no images involved with this layout, in fact I’m fairly sure there’s only one image used for backwards compatibility purposes.  Most elements here use the new rounded borders of CSS3 (if you don’t see rounded stuff, you really should update your browser).

If the site looks much more “boxy”, it’s a fairly certain indication that you’ll need to update your browser.  I’m fairly sure (sorry IE users) that Internet Explorer 8 doesn’t have some of the newer fancier elements used in this design.

Well, I hope you like it.  I know I had an exciting time learning and using the new aspects of this awesome stuffs.  Given more time I might even share some secrets with you

Well, it’s been a little while since a post update. Extremely busy and what not, but closer to having my new theme on here shortly. Just have to do the comment template and everything else should be ready to rock and roll.

Because everyone knows I’ll never be 100% completely happy with whatever I have, here’s another site theme update.  This time provided by Andrei Luca Lightword Theme is probably one of the neatest free wordpress themes out there that adheres to the new engine’s standards (Widgets, Threaded Comments etc. etc.).

As the awesome Karl is working in his spare time on my new design for the site (and business cards) I thought it best not to waste too much time playing with another custom theme until his awesomeness is completed.

The new business cards look (in my bias opinion) are complete sexy and very “unboring” like most typically business cards.

So that’ll be exciting once it’s done!

And the new logo is also cool (cause it’s new, and I love new).

In other news I’ve migrated any posts that seem to be popular from the old Rapid Website to here as I’m taking it down shortly.

Other than that, been programming lots, fixing broken stuffs and every once in a blue moon I play Starcraft 2… which in itself is entirely awesomes.

If you haven’t already seen Auditorium – I suggest you go http://www.playauditorium.com/ now and play.  Just stop what you’re doing and go play.  Epic little game where you need to force particular waves into little boxes.  When the boxes fill up they start to play music.  Fill all the boxes on the level and you’re onto the next!

After the level finishes, the boxes and your little items (that change where the little waves are going) fade from the screen and you’re left with the pattern behind.  Got this and it made me laugh.  Not sure if that confirms I have to get out more, but it’s epic all the same.

I removed the level from the right hand corner (MS-Paint ftw!) so you can’t work out which level this is a solution to.  So don’t ask <_<  K COOKIE – That means you.

Possible Origin! As it appears you can’t take anyone on their words anymore xD But I’m fairly sure it’s NOT from XKCD comic. Also updated the image so it has the original “apparent” footer copyright notice.  Any more updates on this, would be greatly appreciated =D

As per my brothers request, DON’T LOOK AT HIM.  Look at the rolled up stuff in the field we drove past.  Every one had a different smiley (or frowning) face.  Completely Epic.

As per my old blog, this picture was created by me under the watchful eye of Karl Short as a learning experience for Adobe Illustrator.  After all was complete, I still don’t have any creative talents whatsoever.  So make sure you don’t ask me to make you one.  Having said that, it’s still an awesome picture!

While it continues to worsen slightly, here’s some photos I took about an hour ago. Quite a strange occurrence for the coast here. In my 15 odd years of living here, I can’t ever recall a day where this has happened.

What better suited for a start to a new blog than a “Hello World”.  Finally setup my fourth screen today, having two or more remote desktops open was really taking it’s toll on my keyboard with all the ALT-Tabbing I was doing, shifting through webpages – opened documentation notes and the like.  So to celebrate I’ve given myself a new wall paper.  Hopefully the guys in IRC won’t be nearly as nasty about this one because it “spans” and is not simply the same picture four times across the screens.
